This isn’t going to be your typical boring, generic ‘About’ page… because you deserve more than that.
I’m sure you know by now that writing about yourself can be hard (maybe even painful). We don’t want to ‘toot our own horn’, but we also don’t want to downplay ourselves. Which is why this page tends to be the hardest to write!
However, when an ‘About’ page is done right, it’s where you get to know the *real* me…quirks and all. So you can decide for yourself if we would make a great team! Hopefully one day I'll have the privilege of writing your story, but for now, here's mine...
First things first… who the heck am I? Ya know, besides just some copywriter girl…
Well, let’s see… that’s always a hard one for me to answer. But, if I had to sum up the kind of person I am in a nutshell… I guess it would go a little something like this…
Hi! I’m Christa (a.k.a your copywriting companion). I like to think that I’m the perfect mix between an extrovert and an introvert. I mean, I’m someone who loves getting wrapped up in a good conversation with like-minded, down to earth people. Get me going and I’ll tend to chat away -leaving zero room for awkward silence-. Yet at the same time, I’m the type of person who will sign up for a live online workshop, only to watch the recording later on to spare myself from awkward interactions… or worrying the whole time if I have a dumb look on my face.
Alright, now that that’s out of the way… I can’t stress this next part enough, so listen up…
I don’t want to just be ‘that copywriter you once hired’… (ew).
You’re the hero of your story, on an important mission (conquering the corporate world and becoming your own boss), I want to be your loyal sidekick and friend that helps you complete that mission.
Why do I care? Because… I hold a strong belief that life was made for much more than slaving away at a 9 to 5, just to make another person rich. I'm assuming since you're here though, you're the type of person who can relate to this. Am I right?
Listen, for me, breaking free from the claws of the corporate world was scary as hell (especially being an ADHD brained overthinker), but it was also the *best* decision I ever made. I knew from an early age that I didn't fit the mold. I've always been a creative at heart. To put it bluntly… the corporate world sucked the life out of me! And I know I’m not alone in that.
That’s why I’m so passionate about helping you break free from the mold and achieve long-term success doing what you *actually* love… by doing what I *actually* love!
Listen... I know the struggle of Just starting out… and it's hard!
You want nothing more than to get that hard part over with and just accomplish your goals already. But it takes a lot of work, and involves really putting yourself out there… which can be nerve wracking… especially for my fellow ‘extrovert-introverts’.
That’s why when we work together, I want your worries to disappear as we discuss you and your business as friends -while maybe even sharing a few laughs and sipping coffee over Zoom-. I want your eyes to light up with excitement as you share your goals, holding nothing back. And sharing your challenges, knowing there is zero judgment. I also want you to take a sigh of relief, knowing my services won't leave you digging around your couch cushions for spare change (because we can all agree the economy sucks a** these days). That’s why I try to keep my prices as fair and competitive as possible, while also offering payment plan options, without ever compromising the quality of work I do for you.
Besides being the best sidekick in your story, you probably want to know if I’m qualified to write your story… right?
Well, I like to think I’m a writer with a decade of experience… because… if we're getting technical here, you could say I've been one since the age of twelve. Hiding away in my bedroom after school in the early 2000s, typing away story after story on my old, clunky Dell computer. Though I will admit, I internally died from embarrassment when reading them years later. I mean... I was a kid so, give me a break. But it doesn't matter, I deleted all the evidence anyway.
Sorry, we've gotten a little off topic...back to it!
Although I haven’t become the world’s best selling author -yet-… once I discovered copywriting, I fell in love with it instantly. And wondered why the hell I didn’t find it sooner!
Once I officially pursued copywriting as a full-time career I was thrilled! But also terrified to exit my comfort zone, because ya know, anxiety. But needless to say, I stuck with it!
And ever since I’ve dedicated my time to learning the ins and outs of what makes *great* copy -because I refuse to half-a** anything-. I’m talking copy that doesn’t just sound great, or reflect your brand persona to a T… but actually becomes your best marketing tool, and your biggest sales weapon. Copy that is designed to make your life easier (because life is hard enough).
Now, get to know the version of me when 'writer' me is away…
Well okay, ‘writer’ me is never really away I suppose… but there is more to me, I swear!
So, I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, where we're mainly known for our chicken wings, our football fans, and our horrendous winters. Which is weird, because I’ve never been a big fan of chicken wings, I couldn’t care less about football, and I *despise* winter. Like, why the hell am I here, right!? But for now I am. Living a cozy little life with my fiance and our cat Peaches, and we’re making it through these dreaded winters!
-However, I do dream of one day escaping the cold Buffalo winters and spending the rest of my days in a warm, tropical paradise, with my feet planted in the sand.-
Despite my complaints, if I'm being honest, I’ve always been the type of person that is content with the simple things in life. I mean, toss me some soft baked double chocolate chip cookies, and throw on a good horror movie for me to get lost in (preferably one with a jaw dropping plot twist) and I'm more than satisfied!

Indulging in Lindor milk chocolates throughout the day, especially while working (am I indulging at this very moment? Maybe, maybe not, guess you'll never know).

My morning XL iced coffee with lots of vanilla and espresso (a.k.a my creative juice).
All things dessert, because I have the biggest sweet tooth known to man and I simply can't live without cake or chocolate.
My giant, oversized blanket hoodie (if you know, you know) because I'm always freezing. Plus, it makes me feel like I’m wrapped up in a safe, weighted cocoon of comfort.

I know some of you might judge me for this, but I am indeed a cat person. Don't get your panties in a bunch though because I can hear the backlash already! I love dogs (I love all animals for that matter) but cats will always have a special place in my heart. Maybe it's because I'm a clean freak and obsessed with organization, or maybe it's because I love having a little fuzzy buddy cuddle on my chest while purring up a storm. I'm gonna go with both reasons!

I'll always be a morning person! Morning is when I'm the most productive and clear headed. To me, nothing is better than waking up at 5am to make my coffee and jump on my laptop, while the world is still quite and peaceful (and nothing has annoyed me yet).

My favorite places would have to be first, Aruba… and second, Nashville. I'm in love with the beach… the smell of sunscreen, and a fat Pina Colada, ugh, can't get enough of it! And to this day Aruba is my favorite place to bask in the sun on the white sand, next to the beautiful, salty, aquamarine water.
Nashville on the other hand was just amazing in its own way, with amazing people and the overall cheerful energy. As country music plays through every bar, restaurant, etc., (and I’m not even a huge fan of country music, but in Nashville it just hits different)!

I know this is random, but I have been obsessed with watching ‘solo female van-lifers’ on youtube lately. Even playing it in the background while I work. There’s something about it that calms me to my core. As I watch them confidently (with zero anxiety) navigate solo van life. With the peace of being in nature, away from the hussle bussle of life and the constant commotion of people. I know I could *never* do it, but a girl can dream, ya know…

Now, I am obsessed with movies and series in general. But as far as my favorite ‘zone out and lose brain cells’ show to watch… well, that’s ‘90 Day Fiance’ for the win. This show will never get old to me. And even though he’d never admit it, I got my fiance hooked on it as well, which forever fills me with satisfaction. And lucky for me, there’s about a million different spin-off versions, so at this point, I’ll never run out!
